Atiwa East District Appeals For Improved Mobile Phone Network Services

Queenmother of Asamanma in the Atiwa East District of the Eastern Region Obaapanin Obenmaa Gyesi II, has appealed to the various telecommunication companies to site their electronic masts in the area since the community as at now does not have access to mobile phone and internet services.

This, she indicated, has negatively affected the activities of residents within the area over the past years.

This came to light last Sunday at a ceremony as part of the Akwasidae celebrations when the community met the media to interact with the press on issues affecting the community.

Obaapanin Gyesi II said the situation has made it difficult for residents to contact others so easily whiles students on the other hand are affected in their attempt to access information on the internet.

She said the traditional authority had taken steps to curtail the situation but to no avail.

“I Would also like to touch on the poor road network leading to the town and linking it to other environs. In fact, it is very bad so we would like to appeal to government to come to our aid. The lack of a decent health center is posing serious health challenges,” the Queen-mother stated.
