Foreign Doctors Protest

Foreign trained medical doctors who have not been paid for the past 14 months say they will march to the presidency to protest the non-payment of their salaries.

The doctors, who number over 75, say efforts to get the health ministry to address their concerns have proved futile.

The ministry of health in a statement assured the doctors of remedying their situation.

But one of the doctors who spoke to Citi News on condition of anonymity said they were fed up with government’s unfulfilled promises.

“We work 24 hours and they don’t even care about how we treat our patients. The sad thing is that we are venting our anger on an innocent patient. The only thing we are saying is that, if government doesn’t pay us our salaries, we will advise ourselves.”
