Kwesi Appiah Vows To Get Ghana Squad Right For Brazil 2014 World Cup

Ghana coach Kwesi Appiah will leave no stone unturned over the next four months as he tries to get the best idea of whom he should take to the World Cup.

The clock is ticking for Ghana’s players to prove to Appiah that they deserve to be in his 23-man World Cup squad when it is named at the end of May.

The next few months will be the most important period of Appiah’s professional life too.

The 53-year-old has had just over five-years career in management but taking his own country to the World up is his biggest mission by far.

The ex-Kotoko great therefore wants to cover the length and breadth of the country as well as monitor his foreign-based players to pick the best players available to him.

Even though he has stated he has close to 20 ‘untouchables’ in mind, he is leaving no stone unturned to ensure the best players represents the Africans at the global showpiece.

“Myself and the team are looking at the performance of our boys, so I have no worries about not knowing enough about the players,” he said

“We follow them week in-week out. I have a scouting team who monitors their performances and so we’re firmly on the ground. ”

Appiah will travel to the United Arab Emirates on Tuesday night to meet up with his captain Asamoah Gyan to discuss their plans for the World Cup, as revealed exclusively by
