Try To Win Confidence Of Defeated NPP Candidates

The Secretary of the Upper West Regional Electoral Committee of the New Patriotic Party Mr Tony Tamah Abu Ibrahim, has said with the internal elections of the party almost over, the newly elected executive members should try to win the confidence of the defeated candidates and work together for the battle ahead in (2016).

Speaking in an interview, Mr Abu Ibrahim lauded the delegates for electing vibrant executive members to mobilise more supporters to wrest power from the National Democratic Congress in 2016.

He expressed his gratitude to all the delegates for the peaceful manner in which they conducted themselves during the regional elections in Wa.

It would be recalled that on January 25 this year, 29 candidates including four females vied for 10 positions in the region.

At the end of polls, the incumbent Chairman, Alhaji Abubakari Abdul-Rahaman, alias Short, was re-elected for another tenure of office.

Mr Abu Ibrahim, who was also a former Upper West Regional Secretary of the NPP, said they had the potential of winning six out of the 11 constituency seats in the region if they work together as a team.

He, therefore, urged the Nasara co-ordinator to move into the communities and rally the electorate for victory in 2016.
