Queen Mother Appeals For Help To Raise Standards Of Education

The Queenmother of Akyem-Osino, Nana Adomah Agyapong III, has appealed to the Municipal Assembly and the Member of Parliament for the area, to help improve the quality of education in the Fanteakwa South Cnstituency.

According to her, the bad nature of schools in the area has for the past years affected the quality of education in the community.

Nana Adomah made the appeal at her coronation as the new Queenmother of Osino last Saturday.

She, however, expressed worry over the lack of social amenities like portable water, good roads and toilet facilities which makes life very unbearable for residents.

The Queenmother pledged to work hard to revive the spirit of communal labour in the community and vowed to punish those who refuse to attend to such calls.

“I would also like to implore inhabitants and residents to also show love and affection to teachers in order to boost their morale to teach their children despite the challenges teachers face in these hard times,” Queenmother stated.

Nana Adomah therefore urged parents and guardians to invest in their children’s education to help them acquire the needed knowledge to build a reliable future.

The Member of Parliament for Fanteakwa South, Hon. Okyere Agyekum, on his part, commended the chiefs and elders of the community for installing a new Queenmother in a more peaceful manner according to customs and traditions.

“I, on this note, would like to pledge to collaborate with GETFUND to acquire school furniture to support infrastructural development of the Osino Senior High Technical School,” the MP promised.
