Nania’s hopes of another Cup success ended

Nania FC will play no further part in the MTN FA Cup as their hopes of a second Cup success came crushing on Sunday in Tema.

The Division One side, winners of the competition three season’s ago were sent out at the Round of 32 stage after losing 2-1 to Premiership basement boys, Inter Allies.

Nania will now turn their focus on earning a play-off place for Premier League qualification.

However, New Edubiase, another former winner of the competition qualified to the fourth round after a 3-2 victory against Tarkwa Real United.

Liberty Professionals were knocked out from the competition following a 2-0 loss to Hasaacas in Essipon.

Goals from Michael Boakye’s penalty and substitute Joe Agyemang ensured that Hasaacas progressed to the fourth round.

At the Bechem Park, home team, Bechem United finished 2-1 winners over Dolphins to progress to the next round.

Charles Dwamena and Augustine Okrah scored for Bechem while Emmanuel Quarshie got a consolation for Dolphins.

AshantiGold kept their hopes a double on course as the Premier League side defeated Danbort FC 3-1 in Obuasi.
