Former Municipal Chief Executive of the Ledzokuku Krowor Municipality, Daniel Amartey can now heave a sigh of relief following his exoneration in his alleged involvement in a grand scheme to steal some 135 sewing machines belonging to the Ghana Youth Employment and Entrepreneurial Development Agency (GYEEDA) at the Assembly.
The former MCE has been accused of offloading these machines at his residence last week but the Regional Co-ordinator of GYEEDA Solomon Nii Afutu Quartey cleared Mr. Amartey of any wrongful possession of the machines.
Following the alleged criminality, Solomon Nii Afutu Quartey said the machines in question belong to GYEEDA as the former MCE has maintained.
Mr. Amartey was arrested last week by the Kpeshie Divisional Police with his involvement of an impounded vehicle carrying over 135 sewing machines belonging to the Assembly.
He rejected outright allegations that he is connected in the corrupt act.
It is also alleged that Daniel Amartey had not tendered all assets in his possession to the new MCE, Hon. Seth Badu Tawiah.
