Kufuor: Robbers Notice A Result Of Economic Hardship…Ghanaians Are Gnashing

Former President John Agyekum Kufuor says current economic hardship in Ghana has left Ghanaians “gnashing”.

“Everywhere people are gnashing their teeth; they don’t sleep well, because as the dawn breaks on us we wonder where are we going to get the chop money for our families,” he stated.

The former President was speaking at the 1st graduation ceremony of Quickening Word Baptist Church International at Kasoa in the Central Region.

According to him every Ghanaian wakes up each morning with the headache of where to get money from because businesses are collapsing and it is generally difficult to come by money, meanwhile the cost of living has gone very high.

Former President Kufuor also expressed worry about the high rate of graduate unemployment in the country under the Mahama government.

“There’s so much unemployment. Even when we are able to take our children through school and they pass successfully they do not know where to get employment…” JAK said.

The former president argued that the recent letter written by the Armed Robbers Association of Ghana (ARAG) to the residents of Agape in Accra is because of the economic hardship and massive unemployment in the country.

ARAG recently wrote a letter to the residents of Agape asking each of them to pay GHC500 by December 30, 2013 to avoid armed robbery attack.

Former President Kufuor said every parent wants the best of education and healthcare for their children but it has become difficult to do that because the managers of the economy are not able to cushion institutions from the shocks, to be able to provide affordable education and health.

Mr. Kufuor has therefore called on the President John Mahama and his government to take a critical look at the Ghanaian economy and adopt people-centred policies and programs.

Meanwhile the Founder of Quickening Word Baptist Church International, Prophetess Mrs. Jules Nhyira Wallace also urged politicians to desist from insulting prophets or incur the wrath of God.
