Cape Coast Ebusua Dwarfs got their CAF Confederations cup campaign to a good start with a lone goal victory over Senegalese power house AS Jaraaf.
A Richard Gadze shot was all that separated the Cape Coasters in a nervy game that was full of midfield action but little end product.Dwarfs started strongest with the midfield of Ricky Adjei Mensah and Fredrick Boateng posing problems for the Senegalese who took a while to settle.
Jaaraf also peppered the Dwarfs area and kept goalkeeper Patrick Antwi busy with Papa Paye in particular asking questions of the Dwarfs defense .
After a goalless first half Dwarfs boss Prof.Mintah introduced Francis Attuquaye Okine in place of Nicholas Gyan in search of a goal whilst a tired Papa Paye was replaced with Baba Kebe.Dwarfs however got the best of the substitution as Attuquaye Okine was involved in the move that led to Gadze’s deflected shot for the only goal of the game.
