BYC president complains of poor officiating

The President of Liberian champions, Barrack Young Controllers, Prof Sekou Konneh has accused Ouadragou Boukari, the centre referee from Burkinafaso of poor officiating.

The Liberian giants lost by a 2-1 margin http://http://allsports.com.gh/2014/02/09/live-caf-champions-league/ against the champions of Ghana, Kumasi Asante Kotoko in the first leg of the CAF Champions League at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium, Kumasi on Sunday.

Despite getting an away goal, which is the first for any Liberian club in Kumasi, the president thinks the game was characterized by poor refereeing decisions.

“The game was a very tight one, but officiating was terrible. The first penalty awarded to Kotoko wasn’t a penalty.

“Because of this the referee failed to give the home side a clear penalty that came their way, after we had equalized.

“In fact the second penalty awarded was a clear one and Kotoko again had a third penalty but he failed to take a bold decision because the fake penalty he gave them was still haunting him, Prof Sekou told Allsports.com.gh.

The Porcupine Warriors have  a date with BYC in Liberia on Sunday 16 th February for the 2 nd leg of the CAF Champions League.

Kotoko ought to take inspiration from the fact that, no Liberian side has ever eliminated a Ghanaian side in any African Clubs Competitions in their 9 previous engagements.
