Arsene Wenger takes a fall after Liverpool rout


Arsenal’s fall from the top of the Premier League wasn’t the only tumble today.

Pictures online after the  Gunners’ 5-1 defeat at Anfield http://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/sport/football/match-reports/match-report-liverpool-fc-5-6686763  appeared to show manager Arsene Wenger falling over at Lime Street Station.

The Frenchman, 64, was quickly helped to his feet by nearby police officers.

He is not believed to have been injured in the fall after the match.

The images were circulating on social media sites within hours of the match, which saw  Liverpool go 4-0 up within 20 minutes.

The Reds’ goals came from Daniel Sturridge, Martin Skrtel and Raheem Sterling. Mikel Arteta scored Arsenal’s only goal from a penalty in the 69th minute.

An Arsenal spokesman said: “It’s just a small trip and Arsene is fine.
