Injured Seth Owusu misses Golden Arrows victory

Seth Owusu failed to overcome the slight injury he picked up on his debut for Golden Arrows http://http://allsports.com.gh/2014/02/07/owusu-keen-to-help-golden-arrows-avoid-relegation/ against Mamelodi Sundowns on Wednesday in South Africa’s top football league but watched from the stands as his struggling side notched a first victory after 6 straight defeats to give their survival hopes a boost.

Still bottom of the table, Arrows needed a 94 th minute strike by substitute Rudolph Bester to beat Polokwane City 3-2 at home to move their points tally up to 13 from 17 league games, now level with 15 th placed Free State Stars who nevertheless have two games in hand and will be Golden Arrows’ next opponents next Saturday.

“I couldn’t play because I’m still nursing the injury but I hope to be back next week. Of course I’m happy with today’s win. We have to continue from here and be consistent in winning so that we can chase the race for survival,” Owusu told AllSports.com.gh exclusively.

He also rates as must win the Match Day 18 clash at Free State Stars.

“Definitely it’s a must win game. This home win will boost our morale and definitely we are going to pick up the maximum points,” Seth Owusu said.
