Ghana FA boss Kwesi Nyantakyi is confident that the Black Stars will put up a headline-grabbing performance at the 2014 World Cup finals that will see them go past the knockout stages.

The mild-mannered administrator believes the quarterfinal feat chalked at the last tournament in South Africa will be bettered in Brazil this June.

Ghana are in a difficult Group alongside USA, Germany and Portugal which could see them take any early shower at the tournament.

But Nyantakyi is defiant and has promised all and sundry that the Black Stars are set to make history.

“We made it to the round of 16 in our first appearance. Then in South Africa we made a step up. Now let me tell you what will happen if we wriggle our way out of the Group of Death, No one can find us,” Nyantakyi said.

Ghana will begin preparations for the tournament with a friendly against Montenegro next month.

They will also be tested by the Netherlands in Rotterdam on 31 May before heading to Los Angeles, USA where they will play Costa Rica and Honduras.
