BYC president warns Kotoko, history doesn’t play football

Barrack Young Controller (BYC), the Liberian champions have thrown a big challenge to Kumasi Asante Kotoko, ahead of their CAF Champions league clash on Sunday.

The club president Prof. Sekou Konneh, believes all that Kotoko have achieved is past glory and football deals with current form not history.

“We know Kotoko very well, they are a great team, but what they have achieved is part of history.”

“Football is about current form and not how much history you’ve made, otherwise Real Madrid would have just sat down receiving trophies.

“I have a great deal of respect for Kotoko but we are not afraid of them, because they have not won the CAF Champions league in recent times,

“We have not come to roam about in Ghana, we have come to get the results and we are assuring all Liberians that we will come home with success, he said.

The President of BYC added that the pressure is on Kotoko because they know Kotoko well, whereas the Ghanaian champions have no idea of them.

“The pressure is on Kotoko because they don’t know anything about our team, but we have a lot of information on them, Prof Sekou said.

Asante Kotoko last won the CAF Champions League, then the Champions’ Cup in 1983.

They two sides will clash on Sunday at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium, Kumasi.
