AC Milan humbled in Essien debut


Michael Essien and his AC Milan side were humbled to a 3-1 defeat away from home in the Ghanaian’s first game for the Italian club. Essien was given a starting place in his debut game sitting deep in midfield with Nigel De Jong.

AC Milan started the game on the right foot scoring the first goal of the game after just 8 minutes of play. Another new AC Milan player Adel Taarabt was the scorer, bagging his first goal for the cub after transferring from Fulham where he was on loan from Queens Park Rangers.

Home team Napoli drew level three minutes later with Gokhan Inler the scorer as both clubs went into the first half break with a goal each. Napoli capitalized on their early recovery to complete their comeback in the second half. Former Essien team mate Gonzalo Higuain scored a brace to secure a 3-1 victory for Napoli.
