Ghana international Samuel Inkoom is enjoying life in Greece after joining Platanias on loan http://Inkoom handed Platanias debut defeat during the winter transfer window.
The 24-year-old defender was frozen out of Juande Ramos’ team for almost a year and a half at Ukrainian club Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk, and had an unimpressive loan stint at French side Bastia 12 months ago.
However, the 24-year-old has been an instant hit and regular starter for the club who are aiming to stay in Greece’s top flight.
“”I am just happy to play football right now and everything is really positive right now,” Inkoom told Asempa FM’s ‘Fire for Fire’ show.
“I am really enjoying life and football here. I play in every match and my performance is going higher everyday.”
Inkoom added that he is pleased with the stern competition produced by the clubs in the Greek League, suggesting that there are more balance between the teams.
“We have a lot of good and evenly balanced teams in the Greek League. You can mention teams like Olympiacos, Panathinaikos, AEK Athens who are also a force in Europe.
“Even in two or three weeks time, Olympiacos will face Manchester United in the UEFA Champions League (Quarter Finals). This shows how strong this league is.”
The ex-Asante Kotoko right-back pledged his support for the four Ghanaian clubs – Kotoko, Berekum Chelsea, Medeama and Dwarfs- who are in action in the two major continental competitions this weekend.
“I wish all the four clubs the best of luck, especially Kotoko who helped me to reach this far. I thank all the Kotoko supporters and Otumfour for their support. I pray they win their match on Sunday.”
