Ex-Coach of Liberty Professionals, J.E.A. Sarpong has said that the Local Balck Stars defeat to Libya at the just-ended African Nations Championship final was due to lack of preparation and determination to “kill” ourselves for the nation.
He accused the home-based players of going into the tournament without proper preparations though reaching the final.
“I believe our team didn’t have the best preparations we needed for tournament and I will blame everybody, all stakeholders who had a role to play in ensuring that the team lives up to expectation,” the former national team coach said.
“Spiritually and physically, I think Ghana have to do something with this trophy drought,” he charged.
“Anytime we get to a final, we turn to lose the cup, I think a lot have to do with that,” he postulated.
According to the Licensed A certified coach, it is time things changed at the senior national team especially when it comes to final matches.
Ghana was beaten 4-3 on penalties by Libya in the finals of the African Nations Championship, CHAN to hand the North Africans their first silverware in football.
