CPP Activist Endorses UG Road Tolls

The Second Vice Chairperson of the Conventions People’s Party, Rhoda Ayarna has endorsed the decision by the University of Ghana to charge road tolls.

She described the decision by the authorities to collect tolls from motorists making entry into the campus as a positive move to generate more funds.

Speaking on the Pravda Ultimate Starter, she said the authorities of the University of Ghana must charge both private and commercial vehicles.

She said the institution will use the tolls generated to refund loans contracted from banks to renovate roads on the campus.

She advised that the UG authorities must introduced stickers for students and lecturers who live in their various halls to reduce the discomfort caused by paying tolls every time they cross the booth and establish a mechanism of registering their vehicles.

Road users are currently paying the tolls although the matter is being challenged in the Supreme Court by two students of the University.
