Norwegian second tier club FK Bryne remain hopeful of signing striker King Osei Gyan despite the Ghanaian’s preference to move abroad.

Bryne coach Gaute Larsen is a known admirer of the 25-year- old but has been unable to price Fulham youngster away from Viking.

Larsen hopes to make meaningful efforts in the coming days to land his man before the championship in Norway starts.

“We still have time, and if King Osei Gyan is going to change his mind [of moving abroad], it will be nice for us,” he said.

“Aside football, Gyan has also gained an excellent reputation as a very good and friendly person.”

Newly promoted top flight side Halmstad are however reportedly in the lead to sign the Ghanaian forward if he decides to remain in Norway.

And Larsen admits he could miss another opportunity to land his target.

“It is likely he will sign for newly-promoted Swedish side Halmstad,” Larsen added.

Gyan joined Viking in 2011 after a three-year loan stint at Belgian club Germinal Beerschot.
