Mourinho credits win against Man City to Chelsea masseur

Love him or hate him, Jose Mourinho did it again on Monday night. The self-imposed Special One delivered something special at the Etihad Stadium when Chelsea played Manchester City in the Premier League. The Portuguese prevented the prolific attacking-minded Manchester City who have scored over 100 goals this season from putting the ball in the back of Chelsea’s net. He nicked the game with a 1-0 score-line.

Jose Mourinho however has attributed the win to the Chelsea team masseur who he claims gave the pre-match talk. Mourinho who claim his side are the ‘little horse’ in the English Premier League title race with respect to Arsenal and Manchester City said after being asked of what he told the players before the game:

“I didn’t speak [before the game].It was Billy the masseur who spoke to the team. He was screaming so much in Scottish – grrr, grrr, grrr – that I didn’t understand him.

“I am serious! But the players were clapping. It was Billy’s team-talk and he was fantastic. I didn’t understand but it looks like the players understood. The last time I spoke to the players was midday.”

On Chelsea’s chances of winning the Premier League title, the Portuguese said:

“It is not a three-horse race. It is two horses and a little horse that still needs milk and to learn how to jump. It is a nice horse, though, and a horse that next season can race.

“Maybe Arsenal deserve it more than us, They are top of the league and they are the favourites. We go behind them and play and watch. We are there, but are not favourites. I just think this is very important because it is not good for the evolution of the team, playing 10-15 points behind the leaders or for the Europa League.

“The feeling having played the way they have is a fantastic feeling for them. But we lost points at home against West Bromwich Albion and against West Ham. We lost at Stoke, we lost at Newcastle. We are a team in evolution but this is the kind of performance that helps the team to grow up a lot, tactically, mentally, I think it was fantastic.” Follow @@kboakye92
