Hearts return to Accra after two-home game ban

Hearts of Oak will return to the Accra Sports Stadium to play host to Wa All Stars on Wednesday in the Ghana Premier League.

The Phobians were handed a temporary ban from using the Accra Sports Stadium as their home ground for Ghana Premier League matches.

The Premier League Board suspended the 18-time Ghana champions following their misbehaviour during a home league game against King Faisal in November.

Some Supporters of the club invaded the pitch after the final whistle and attempted to attack referee Otis Oppong following the 1-1 draw with King Faisal.

The Disciplinary Committee of the Ghana FA found the Club guilty and banned the Phobians two home games and ordered them to pay hefty fines.

Hearts have served the subsequent games away from home in the course of the ban, losing the first – 0-1 to Medeama SC at the Robert Mensah Sports Stadium – and drawing 2-2 with Aduana Stars at the Len Clay Sports Stadium.

After paying a hefty price for the crowd trouble in November, Hearts of Oak will finally return to the Accra Sports Stadium on Wednesday to lock horns with the Wa based side.

Wa All Stars thrashed Hearts of Oak 3-0 at the Wa Park in the first round of the Ghana Premier League in December last year.
