Dr. Daniel K. Markin, the Executive Chairman of the Uniex Ghana Limited, the agency that brokered the First Capital Plus Bank sponsorship deal for the GFA has revealed that Ghana Premier League clubs will receive $50,000 on Tuesday afternoon as a part payment of the premier league sponsorship money.
“When Kwesi Nyantakyi approached me that Ghana league is without a sponsor, I had to help out because of my love for the country and football.
“Due to this I have persuaded the sponsor to pay an instant $50,000 to the clubs today, when the final agreement is signed, he said.
He also disclosed that the $2 million in the first season is split into two by the sponsor, a million dollar for the clubs and another million for the promotion of the league
“The sponsor decided to pay $1 million for the first season, because they are starting half way in the season, but I persuaded them to pay the full $2 million so that a million dollar could go into the promotion of the league.
“We have decided to put in place riffles in collaboration with the national lotteries. We will also invite artiste like Becca to perform before kickoffs, in a way to promote the league. Award schemes for players who will distinguish themselves in the league, would also be established,” Dr. Markins said.
The final agreement between the First Capital Plus Bank and the GFA would be signed on Tuesday.
