Portuguese side Rio Ave have signed talented youngster Ernest Ohemeng from Ghanaian third-tier side Cheetah FC on a six-month loan deal.
The 18-year-old, likened to Ghana international Christian Atsu, will be handed a permanent deal if he impresses at the end of the season.
Ohemeng had a ten-day trial session at Belgian side Club Brugge but his club sent him to the Portuguese side due to the existing relationship.
He was also assessed by Anderlecht and FC Porto.
“Ohemeng is very quick on the ball, has pace, is very skillful and can create and score goals as well,” CEO of Cheetah FC Abdul-Hayye Yartey told the Graphic Sports.
