Airtel Ghana has assured customers that the Airtel Insurance cover is completely free and Airtel does not charge customers higher tariffs for registering for the policy.
According to Yaw Antwi Boadu, the Value Added Services Manager, Airtel will pay the premiums on behalf of customers in order to help boost insurance cover for its customers in Ghana. Mr. Boadu says it is important to dispel the perception that Airtel Insurance comes with increasing tariffs. “The cover is linked to the usage of talk time, and what this means is that the more airtime a customer uses, the higher his insurance cover”, Mr. Boadu said, adding that the package is renewable every month, hence customers are encourage to continue using their Airtel lines to keep enjoying free insurance cover.

Airtel is working in partnership with MicroEnsure (one of Africa’s most e-nnovative companies) as administrators of claims; and Enterprise Life (Ghana’s number 1 insurance company) as underwriters of the insurance.
