IPA seeks a Project Manager for immediate hire who will assist with the logistics and survey design of a Randomized Controlled Trial RCT evaluation that measures the impact of COPA-Connect Smallholder Program across Ghana\u2019s Eastern and Volta Regions. COPA-Connect Smallholder Program aims to link small farmers into the agricultural value chain by offering them out-grower contract. <\/div>\n

The evaluation of COPA-Connect Smallholder Program provides an unparalleled opportunity to study the multifaceted links between agriculture, health, education, and economic outcomes. <\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
RESPONSIBILITIES: <\/b><\/div>\n
The Project Manager will work closely with international researchers and other field staff to perform a variety of tasks including, but not limited to:<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
Data Collection Management:<\/div>\n
\n
    \n
  1. With research team, refine study design and survey instruments;<\/span><\/li>\n
  2. Oversee and monitor data collection and survey field work, including planning, logistics, hiring, and training;<\/span><\/li>\n
  3. Conduct qualitative research to inform research design;<\/span><\/li>\n
  4. Run pilot survey exercises, provide feedback on field operations and survey instruments, and make and monitor improvements;<\/span><\/li>\n
  5. Provide close, on-site supervision of data collection, while surveys are ongoing<\/span><\/li>\n
  6. Assist in the writing of project reports and policy memos.<\/span><\/li>\n
  7. Financial Management<\/span><\/li>\n
  8. Work with IPA Ghana\u2019s financial staff to keep detailed accounts of all project program activities, including monitoring project expenses.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/div>\n
    <\/div>\n
    Human Resource Management<\/div>\n
    \n
      \n
    1. Draft Job Descriptions for short term local hires and, when necessary, help circulate them;<\/span><\/li>\n
    2. Participate in short term staff selection process and assist with employment-related communication;<\/span><\/li>\n
    3. Assist Project coordinator with training as needed;<\/span><\/li>\n
    4. Assist with short term staff evaluations; make recommendations regarding renewal of short term staff contracts;<\/span><\/li>\n
    5. Enforce all IPA Ghana policies<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/div>\n
      <\/div>\n
      Miscellaneous<\/div>\n
      \n
        \n
      1. Assist the Project Coordinator with obtaining and sharing information from partner offices<\/span><\/li>\n
      2. Communicate regularly with management team on matters including finance, logistics and government relations;<\/span><\/li>\n
      3. Perform other duties related to project implementation as needed.<\/span><\/li>\n
      4. The Project Manager will be based in one of the project sites preferably Kpong for the duration of the project. The commitment sought for this position is a minimum of two years.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/div>\n

        Qualification and Requirements<\/b><\/div>\n
        IPA is seeking candidates who meet the following requirements:<\/div>\n
        <\/div>\n
        \n
          \n
        1. BA or BSc. in development economics, or social science\/development field.<\/span><\/li>\n
        2. Strong budgeting and financial management skills.<\/span><\/li>\n
        3. Strong oral and written communications skills in English.<\/span><\/li>\n
        4. Strong oral proficiency in GA-Dangme, Ewe and\/or additional languages used in the Eastern and Volta Regions <\/span><\/li>\n
        5. Experience supervising, designing and implementing data collection and\/or field work activities, and managing teams of field workers, is preferred.<\/span><\/li>\n
        6. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.<\/span><\/li>\n
        7. Well organized, detail-oriented, able to prioritize, and manage multiple tasks simultaneously with minimal supervision.<\/span><\/li>\n
        8. Advanced user of Microsoft office suite (Excel, Word, Power Point), and the internet.<\/span><\/li>\n
        9. Experience in data management, econometrics, and programming in STATA or SPSS is a plus.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
