The selection and appointment of a chief executive for the Nkoranza South municipality in the Brong Ahafo Region is causing confusion among the leaders and constituency executive members of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the area.<\/p>\n

The situation had created factions among three of the leaders as every faction had proposed a nominee for consideration for the position.<\/p>\n

The factions are the Member of Parliament (MP) of the Constituency, Mr Emmanuel Kwadwo Agyekum, the Constituency Chairman, Mr Thomas Baffoe-Ankomah and the youth organiser, Mr Thomas Boakye Boateng.<\/p>\n

The Member of Parliament (MP) has proposed Mr Paul Opoku Nsowaah for the position, while the faction of the constituency chairman has Mr Gyabaah Solomon in mind and Mr Solomon Korantwi Barimah is also the favourite of the youth organiser.<\/p>\n

Mr Anyas Awudu, spokesperson of the Nkoranza South Constituency Northern caucus and concerned youth of the party, disclosed this at a meeting to express his displeasure about the situation.<\/p>\n

The NDC Northern caucus of the Nkoranza South Constituency has, therefore, called on the President, \u00a0Mr John Dramani Mahama and the appointment committee of the party to send a delegation to study current events in the area before the appointment was made as the grounds were not fertile for the selection process.<\/p>\n

Mr Awudu announced that the youth had threatened to move into the streets if \u00a0the constituency leaders should impose their ideas on the appointment of the chief executive.<\/p>\n

They have also advised the MP not to interfere in the affairs regarding the appointment of the chief executive as it could create problems for him. \u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is our conviction that the leaders of the party considered a party member who had served and been very loyal to NDC\u2019\u2019 Mr Awudu added.<\/p>\n

They alleged that the MP had capitalised on his cordial relationship with the first lady, Mrs Lordina Mahama, to threaten the party members that he could influence the decision for the selection of a chief executive for Nkoranza South municipality.<\/p>\n

It would be recalled that on Wednesday , April \u00a024 , 2013, the executive members met and conducted elections on the 12 applicants who had applied for consideration as the Chief executive of the area but after the event, there had been misunderstandings among the leaders of the party regarding the choice of the right person.\u00a0<\/p>\n
