The government has approved guidelines for the determination of market premium for its employees under the Single Spine Salary Structure (SSSS).<\/p>\n
A statement signed by the Minister of Information and Media Relations, Mr Mahama Ayariga, explained that the guidelines covered workers with critical skills.<\/p>\n
It said in the interim, the old premiums would continue, adding that they would, however, come to an end following the determination of which skills fell within the category of critical skills and the amount of premium to be paid.<\/p>\n
It said a government White Paper on the guidelines would soon be published.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, another statement issued by Mr Ayariga says President John Dramani Mahama, ministers and deputy ministers have not been paid their ex gratia.<\/p>\n
It said the ministers, including presidential staffers, had not received any ex gratia from January 7, 2009 to Jan 7, 2013, adding that the ex gratia so far paid was for only Members of Parliament.<\/p>\n
It said allegations peddled in some media discussions to the effect that members of the political elite had paid themselves lump sums in ex gratia and were asking other public servants to acceptinstalment payment for arrears of their 2012 allowances were untrue.<\/p>\n
The statement said ministers and deputy ministers might only receive their ex gratia when the concerns of non Article 71 office holders had been equally attended to.<\/p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
