Rahim Ayew to leave Lierse at the end of the season<\/p><\/div>\n

SK Lierse\u2019s failure to make timely payments to players is the reason some stars including Rahim Ayew is leaving the club, MTNFootball.com investigations have revealed.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Belgian club are in deep financial stress and are currently facing several legal suites over defaulted payment to players and staff.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe club is not in a good financial standing and are currently saddled with several legal suites,\u201d a club source revealed to MTNFootball.com.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe former Chief Executive for instance has taken the club to court over outstanding payments to be made to him by the club.\u201d<\/p>\n

Lierse announced on Thursday they will not be renewing the contracts of trio; Hussien Yasser, Soufiane Bidaoui and Rahim Ayew as their contract expire in June.<\/p>\n

The Ghana international has been one of the best players for Lierse this season \u2013 playing a total of 23 games \u2013 18 league matches and three Cup games.<\/p>\n

His imminent exit therefore raised the suspicion something definitely might have gone wrong.<\/p>\n

The source now confirms the departure of the trio is necessitated by the lack of funds to retain their services at the club.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe announcement to release the players was a move to keep the true situation away from the fans,\u201d the source continued.<\/p>\n
