Ghana defender Rashid Sumaila has signed a five-year contract with South African Premier Soccer League side Mamelodi Sundowns but it will be activated in June.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The centre-back impressed on a two-week trial but will be available for the Brazilians in the summer.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Sumaila<\/span> scored a goal in one of Sundowns\u2019 mid-season training matches and claimed a starting role for himself.<\/p>\n

The 21-year-old impressed head coach Pitso Mosimane with his hard tackling and he is sturdy built.<\/p>\n

If his registration is completed in June, Sumaila<\/span> will become the third Ghanaian player with<\/span> the Chloorkop side after Emmanuel Baffour<\/span> and Mumuni Abubakar.<\/span><\/p>\n

He is currently on loan at Ghanaian champions<\/span> Asante Kotoko from Ebusua<\/span> Dwarfs.<\/p>\n

Sumaila<\/span> was named in Ghana\u2019s pre-Africa Cup of Nations squad but was dropped at<\/span> the team\u2019s tournament camping in Abu Dhabi.<\/p>\n
