Conveners of pressure group \u2018Let My Vote Count Alliance\u2019 have indicated that they will resist any attempt by the Koforidua District Police Command to stop them from organizing their intended public forum in town on Sunday.<\/p>\n

In pursuance of Nana Akufo-Addo and two other plaintiffs\u2019 election law suit, the group is embarking on a nationwide campaign to rally support for the court action.<\/p>\n

Organizers of the Alliance are yet to honour the Madina Police Command\u2019s invitation for questioning in connection with the official launch at Dome Kwabenya last weekend.<\/p>\n

Information reaching Citi News indicates that the Koforidua District Police Command has opposed the group\u2019s intended public forum.<\/p>\n

But a leading member of the \u2018Let My Vote Count Alliance,\u2019 David Asante stated that nothing will stop them from organizing the event.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe presented notification to the Eastern Regional Police through our Coordinator in the region and the Police gave us the green light and even promised to give us protection, only to be told later that we can no longer go ahead with the programme as scheduled.\u201d<\/p>\n

Mr. Asante further explained that \u201cthe Police intended given us two police personnel and told us to go ahead with our programme only for us to be told this morning that we cannot have the programme on Sunday as originally scheduled in spite of the preparations that have gone down and the police is giving us the reason that we did not indicate the speakers who are going to be on the platform and also we did not specify the time.\u201d<\/p>\n
