The Member of Parliament for North Tongu, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwah has described as laughable and ridiculous NPP\u2019s protest against Raymond Atuguba being a member of the nine-member panel hearing its election rigging petition.<\/p>\n

According to Hon. Ablakwa, no judge would be left to sit on the case if the argument is stretched to relations.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf we use just relations it would lead to a situation that no judge would sit on this matter because we know that on that same panel are relations of people who have been active in the NPP and have even been cabinet ministers\u201d the outgoing Information Minister said.<\/p>\n

He added that \u201cbecause Raymond Atuguba has been appointed by President Mahama but to make it to the Supreme Court you should be appointed by a President so who is going to be left. So I am very surprised that people are inviting us to this absurdity\u201d.<\/p>\n

But the communications director of the NPP, Nana Akomea says the objection is to protect the integrity of the Judiciary.<\/p>\n

Speaking on Metro TVs Good morning Ghana program, Nana Akomea said Ghanaians must exercise restraint and wait for the party to file its official motion on Monday.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe lawyers representing Nana Akufo Addo, Bawumia and Otetsebi Lamptey when they saw the panel thought there would be a problem with one of the members\u201d.<\/p>\n
