Footsoldiers of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC)in the Akwapim South District Assembly are on the heels of the District Chief Executive (DCE), Afari Djan, for what they described as neglect, after winning the general elections.<\/p>\n
The footsoldiers are accusing the DCE of refusing to recruit them into government employment programmes, such the Ghana Youth Employment and Entrepreneurial Development Agency (GYEEDA) among others.<\/p>\n
They are also accusing the DCE of neglecting his job to campaign for his intended MP candidature, come December 2016.<\/p>\n
They described the DCE as \u201cNPP member\u201d because Akwapim South was strongly against his appointment.<\/p>\n
According to them, since he assumed office, those at the grassroot of the party had never known peace, and have even refused to pay workers at the party office, leading to its closure.<\/p>\n
The party footsoldiers also hinted that the DCE always claims he uses his own money to finance party activities, which they considered as false.<\/p>\n
\u201cWhat we know is that he has set his own team to contest against the current NDC executives in the area, bringing one NPP member, Ebenezer Okyere to also contest against the NDC Chairman in the area, Hon. Razak.<\/p>\n
\u201cWhen this issue was brought before the Council of Elders, they told him to go and drop Ebenezer Okyere\u2019s posters because it was against the party rules,\u201d one of the angry footsoldiers lamented.<\/p>\n
According to them, during the 2012 general election, the DCE stated that he was praying for the NDC to win only the presidential and not the parliamentary election, so could get the nod to become the DCE.<\/p>\n
\u201cBecause of his attitude we lost the Parliamentary election in the area,\u201d they noted. A visit to the area during the celebration of late President Mills\u2019 one year anniversary revealed that not even a single chief and party executives were present.
