The public gallery of Parliament on Tuesday witnessed hot exchanges between two Honourable Members of Parliament (MP); Madam Ursula Owusu, MP for Ablekuma West and Mutala Mohammed, MP for Nantong.<\/p>\n

Explaining his side of the story, Hon. Murtala said he went to exchange pleasantries with Hon. Adwoa Sarfo, MP for Dome-Kwabenya – Just then Hon. Ursula Owusu who was seated next to Hon. Adjoa Sarfo immediately interjected saying \u201cyou went on Metro TV and told lies about me, now people from the North are calling and threatening me.\u201d<\/p>\n

Explaining, Hon. Mutala said Dr. Anthony Akoto Osei, NPP MP for Tafo\/Pankrono, who was his co-panelist on Metro TV\u2019s Good \u2018Morning Ghana\u2019, made a statement which sought to undermine the integrity of the people of the North so he condemned Dr. Akoto\u2019s comment and made reference to a similar one made by Madam Ursula Owusu; insisting that it is not the right way to go.<\/p>\n

Speaking in an interview on Citi FM\u2019s eye witness news, Hon Murtala continued that Hon. Owusu who was apparently not happy with what he said on Metro TV, started attacking him verbally.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen she began, everybody was surprised including Madam Adwoa Sarfo. I realized that no, this lady must be tamed and so I told her to be a bit civil; I thought I was going to have a decent conversation with a lady, but unfortunately no. Probably she does that to other people and goes scot free. If those were her intentions then I don\u2019t know but I made it clear to her that if she brings it she will get twenty fold. You bring me one (1) you will get twenty; so I made it clear to her that she needed to be civil.\u201d<\/p>\n

<\/span>when asked by the host, he denied ever using \u2018unparliamentary\u2019 language to attack Hon. Owusu, adding \u201cshe rather used \u2018unparliamentary\u2019 language. I never used a single \u2018unparliamentary\u2019 language. I only said she needed to be civil. Mine was just to admonish her and make her understand that she is a Member of Parliament and so should be careful how she conducts herself.<\/p>\n

When peacefmonline.com contacted Hon. Owusu, she refused to comment. According to her, she has resolved not to make any public statement on the issue.<\/p>\n
