New Edubiase United have held preliminary talks with side Bayer Leverkusen over a possible partnership deal.

If the deal is sealed, Edubiase will benefit from a youth development and coaching exchange programme just like Asante Kotoko’s relationship with English Premier League side Sunderland.

The club’s Vice President Alex Ackumey presented a proposal to the club and the Bundesliga side were hugely impressed.

He met the team manager of Bayer 04 Leverkusen Dirk Dreher who was convinced about partnering the Bekwa-based side.

Former Ghana U17 captain Sebastian Barnes who is an assistant coach with the club’s U20 team played a key role.

But Leverkusen can only assist the Ghana Premier League for the 2014/2015 season.

‘They have agreed to help us but from next season because they have programmed everything already for the year,’ Ackumey exclusively told MTNFootball.com

‘We are talking about youth development and coaching exchange programme here and I’m confident that everything will be finalized in the days to come.

‘German clubs have got one of the best youth systems in the world and we want to exchange talents with professional ideas.’

Edubiase have been a conveyor-belt of producing youngsters with promising prospects of playing top-tier football.
