We ‘ll hammer Ghana as Kambwili confirms Govt will charter planes

Sports Minister Chishimba Kambwili

Sports Minister Chishimba Kambwili has assured the nation that government will charter planes to take fans to Ghana for the September 6, Brazil 2014 World Cup qualifier.

Kambwili was speaking at the closing ceremony of the 2013 Airtel Rising Star yesterday and implored both Supersport and Airtel to charter a plane each.

“I would like to assure the nation that the national team will hammer Ghana,” Kambwili as he received an applause from the invited guests.

“To this effect, I have meetings with both Supersport and Airtel. We have asked them to charter a plane each for the fans. As government, I would to take this opportunity to announce that, ‘Yes, we are chartering planes to Ghana,” the energetic Kambwili confirmed.

Last week, the Ministry of Sports provided buses to ferry fans to Harare to cheer the local guns in the first of the final round of the CHAN qualifier.

But it is the big one in Kumasi that has everyone talking and for that the government is taking no chance as they want to ensure and give the Chipolopolo every chance of making a maiden appearance at a FIFA World Cup.

Zambia trail Ghana by a point and the eagerly anticipated match will definitely bring the two nations to stand still.

Meanwhile the Zambia CHAN squad beat FAZ lower tier side Kalewa 4-0 in a practice match with Moses Phiri and Alex Ng’onga accounting for a brace each.

Zambia take on Zimbabwe this weekend in the second leg of the CHAN qualifier.
