The Ministry of the Interior on Friday assured the public that adequate security measures had been put in place to protect lives and property during and after the determination of the Election 2012 petition at the Supreme Court.
A statement signed by Mr Kwesi Ahoi, Minister for the Interior, said the measures were aimed at ensuring public safety, including nationals of other countries living in Ghana.
The Ministry said the security agencies were psychologically and logistically prepared to maintain law and order and efforts were being made to prevent the occurrence of any disturbances.
The statement said all the Ministry’s agencies were also prepared to manage any excesses that might emanate from the court case and appealed to all persons to remain calm and have confidence in the security agencies.
It said in case of any security concerns or information, the Police could be reached on MTN and Vodafone Shortcode 18555 or 191 from all networks.
