Al Azhar called Thursday on the international community to recognize the real situation in Egypt as the people corrected the path of their revolution.
The call came on Thursday in a meeting between a delegation of Al-Azhar scholars headed by Sheikh Abd al-Tawab Abd al-Hakim Qutb and UN Under-Secretary for Political Affairs Jeffrey Feltman.
During the meeting, Al-Azhar urged US to reconsider its stand by stopping supporting the destructive chaos in Egypt.
For his part, Feltman stressed the Egyptian people’s right to determine their future, adding that the UN recognizes well the national role of Al Azhar institution.
