Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu fires Zambia warning

Midfielder Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu insists there is no way Zambia will escape defeat against Ghana in the deciding 2014 World Cup qualifier next month.

The Black Stars will host the Chipolopolo in the deciding Group D fixture at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi on September 6.

Zambia needs a win to knock the Black Stars off the top of the table and ultimately grab the group’s sole progressive ticket into the playoffs.

Ghana on the other hand just need to avoid defeat before their passionate home fans to remain on track for a third successive World Cup appearance in Brazil.

But the Udinese midfielder believes Zambia are in for a long-overdue defeat in the crucial match on September 6.

‘When you are about to play a team who start talking three months to the match then you know they are scared,’ he told Accra-based Hot FM.

‘But we know the match will not be easy, it will be a tough match.

‘Zambia are a good side but I don’t think they can survive in Kumasi.

‘We know a draw will be enough for us to progress but our fans want the win and we are determined to give it to them.’

Ghana have been on the end of defeats in their last two meetings against Zambia.

The Chipolopolo first handed the Black Stars a shocking 1-0 defeat on their way to their maiden Nations Cup success in 2012.

They again repeated the dose in the first leg match of the 2014 World Cup qualifiers last year in Ndola.
