Actor Wentworth Miller has revealed that he is a gay man.

The 41-year-old actor who became popular after starring in the ‘Prison Break’ TV series went public with his sexuality on August 21, 2013 through a letter written to the St. Petersburg International Film Festival.

Apparently, Miller had written the letter to the director of the film festival rejecting its invitation for him to travel for the event because he is not comfortable with the Russian Government’s ‘current attitude toward and treatment of gay men and women’.

Thank you for your kind invitation. As someone who has enjoyed visiting Russia in the past and can also claim a degree of Russian ancestry, it would make me happy to say yes. However, as a gay man, I must decline’, part of the statement read.

I am deeply troubled by the current attitude toward and treatment of gay men and women by the Russian government’, Miller continued

If circumstances improve, I’ll be free to make a different choice’, he added.

Twitter has sparked off with Miller becoming a trend in several countries and a number one topic in Nigeria.
