Remain Calm After Supreme Court Verdict – Police

Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Joseph Owusu, Nkoranza Municipal Police Commander, has urged activists of NPP and NDC to comport themselves and eschew negative attitudes and practices after the Supreme Court verdict on the Election 2012 petition.

He noted that Ghana would be the overall winner since stability for her development was supreme.

DSP Owusu made the call when addressing members of the Seventh Day Adventist (SDA) at Busunya in the Nkoranza North District as part of the Command’s educational programme for stakeholders in the communities on the verdict.

He said the youth should realize that the country belonged to them as future leaders and must refrain from acts that would affect the country’s socio-economic development.

DSP Owusu commended religious leaders, traditional rulers, opinion leaders and the Ghana Peace Council for their efforts to promote peace before the verdict and urged them to continue after the ruling.

Pastor Peter Bediako, President of Busunya SDA Church, commended the police for their efforts to maintain peace and pledged the commitment of the members of the church to live up to expectation and also serve as peace ambassadors in the communities.
