Charles Kwadwo Ntim has lashed at reports he received immense financial help from Ghana coach Akwasi Appiah and prominent politicians in order to buy BA Stars.

The businessman secured a complete takeover of the Ghanaian second tier club from Tony Bennett after fruitful weeks of negotiations.

Ntim popularly known as Micky Charles intends changing the club’s name and its home grounds to his hometown of Techiman.

But the Ghana U23 team Management Committee member who started out as a ‘dj’ is irked by talks he had to beg for cash from his close friends before being able to buy out the Brong Ahafo side.

These friends mentioned in a fast spreading rumour includes Black Stars coach Akwasi Appiah, Ghana FA Executive Committee member Randy Abbey and prominent opticians.

Ntim has however dismissed these rumours – insisting he has made enough money for himself to be able to bid and buy a Ghanaian club.

‘These things I here are very laughable, some people say Randy Abbey, some politicians and even Akwasi Appiah bought the club for me,’ he told Metro FM.

‘Are these people trying to say I am not good enough to acquire a club of my own?

‘I have lived life and therefore my association with people shouldn’t create the impression I cannot fend for myself or acquire a football club for that matter.

‘Everyone knows I am friends with Randy Abbey and we have been friends for a long time.

‘Again people know the relationship I have with Akwasi Appiah and therefore it is stretching it too far when people say I bought a club because these friends of mine got it for me.’
