Achimota’s Michael Bennisam came second while Emmanuel Nyavor from the Celebrity Golf Club in Sakomuno took the third place in the boy’s category.
Girls’ winner Amazado was followed by Pernille Krobong from the Royal Golf Club, Kumasi, with the third place going to Aliyah Iddriss from Putters League.

In the U-14 category, Richard Ofori from Benso and Priscilla Bonsu from Kumasi emerged winners while Nana Kwadwo Opoku and Michelleanna Boateng both from Celebrity also won the U-12 division.
Acting Greater Accra Regional Sports Development Officer, Mr. Kwame Amponfi Jnr., commended the organizers for beginning this journey of developing the game from the youthful stage.
‘Keep up the good performance and strive for the best since the country has a short and long term plan of representing golf in the next Olympic Games,’ said Amponfi Jnr.
President of JGG, BBK Ayivor said he was overwhelmed by the turnout for the event saying their budget was stretched by the turnout of kids.
He said, ‘This tournament formed part of a series of Junior Golf Ghana’s competitions which would be used to rank junior golfers in the country.
‘It is also aimed at promoting and developing the game from the scratch in order to whip up interest in the game from their tender ages,’ he added.
The Ghana Junior Golf Open 2013, organized by Junior Golf Ghana, under the auspices of the Ghana Golf Association, is sponsored by Goldfields Company Limited, with support from the Celebrity Golf Club, Ice Cool mineral water and Calbank Limited.
