Tinto

Just as the sobriquet “Chemu”, reminds you of “Chorkor Trotro”, so must “Tinto” do for “Shoeshine and Barber”. For those of us who remain spell-bound to our television sets between 7:30pm to 8:00pm on fridays only on TV3, we can testify for ourselves.

Tinto, we all know to be that slim, dark gentleman with the fanti accent, who plays the role of the shoeshine boy in BNS is known in real life as Kwabena Amoakoh.

He is a native of Assin Amankese, a suburb of the Assin South Constituency in the Central Region. His parents Mr. Akwasi Amoakoh and Madam Sarah Effah who nurtured him, of which he took his Primary and Junior High school at one of the local community schools in Aburaso, Kumasi. He also took his SHS level at Ahenekro in Assin.

Upon asking him about how he got into the industry, he stated that he was taken to Tv3 by one Kofi Asamoah where he met Mr. George Bosompin, the then director at Gama Films. He was then auditioned and given the role.

“My real dream since childhood had always being on diving into the entertainment industry. In steps into the industry, I took music as carrier. Now that I’m into acting too,……. I’d do both”.

All, Tinto requires from his fans and loved ones is their support and prayers.
