Ghana midfielder Mubarak Wakaso has returned to Espanyol with his future with the Spanish side still unsettled despite his quest to leave the club.

Several clubs in Europe are seeking to sign the hardworking midfielder but Espanyol rejected the offers saying the asking price was too small.

The Russian outfit has made an offer of six million Euros for the services of the Ghanaian, but his Spanish club has turned it down.

The midfielder left the club on Monday to join the Black Stars as they prepared for Wednesday’s friendly against Turkey.

It was thought that he future could be settled as Russian club Rubin Kazan were keen on signing him before he returns from the match against Turkey.

But nothing seems to have been sorted as the Ghanaian returned to training on Friday even though he is unhappy over his terms of wages at the club.

Wakaso had threatened to leave because he was among the lowest paid players at the club even though he is considered by many as most influential.

Wakaso, who hit global headlines for his heroics at the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations, has been interesting several clubs in England, Spain and Germany.

Wakaso, 23, joined Espanyol from Villareal last season and has been the best player in the setup of coach Javier Aguirre scoring thrice and providing assists.

Swansea wanted to sign him this summer, but their money fall short of what Espanyol were demanding leading to a burst up with his team last week over his 20,000 Euros a month salary.
