Porto are warding off interest for Ghana winger Christian Atsu by placing an outrageous €10m transfer fee on his head.

The 21-year-old wants to leave and has thus refused to sign a contract extension with the Portuguese champions.

Atsu will become a free agent at the end of the coming season when his existing deal expires.

But Porto are determined to milk maximum cash of the anticipated sale of the Ghanaian with Liverpool and Everton the most likely destinations.

The Portuguese giants have however placed an outrageous €10m fee on the player’s head – a move that will certainly ward off interests.

The Ghanaian though with immense potential is yet to hit his strides as a regular performer in Europe.

Teams all around Europe will not be prepared to part with such huge sums of cash for an unproven talent who crucially will be a free agent next year.

The latest move by Porto suggests they are not ready to sell – meaning they risk losing the player for absolutely free when they could have earned some reasonable about of money for his sale this off-season.

The player meanwhile has been banished from the first team and has since been training with the reserves.
