NDC, NPP Ready To Accept Supreme Court Verdict

The Chairman of the New Patriotic Party, NPP, Jake Obetsebi-Lamptey, says the party has consistently showed that it is committed to peace.

He said over the years, it has showed in words and deeds that peace is a pre-requisite to developing in freedom.

Speaking to Radio Ghana, Mr. Obetsebi-Lamptey said the calls for peace, can be meaningful only if there is justice.

He asked the media to avoid sensationalism and not enter fair inflammatory statements on the airwaves.

Mr. Obetsebi-Lamptey emphasised the need for healthy debates.

Also the deputy General Secretary of the NDC, Kofi Adams, said the party is committed to peace and stability. The party is also ready to accept the verdict of the Supreme Court.

Mr. Adams also asked all to exercise the highest sense of decorum, and not negative comments about individual and institutions, especially the supreme court.

He said the party will crack the whip on members who break its code of conduct.

Meanwhile the CDD has asked Political Parties to go beyond rectories and disown member who offend the law.

The Programme Manager, Paul Abrampah said if the political parties are able to do that it will send strong signals to supporters that parties don’t condone wrong doing.
