A story of neglect, apathy on the part of officials of the railway authorities as hawkers and squatters along the railway track expand their activities to encroach on the rail line.
Over the years, the hawkers and squatters have encroached on the railway lines and have even got closer to the Accra railway station without any effort by the authorities to assert their authority and enforce the regulations.
The buildings in the picture are only a few meters away from the railway line, though the law stipulates that all buildings should be a 100 feet away from the line.
