Egypt: One Dead, 20 Injured in Alexandria Violence

One person was killed and 20 others were injured in clashes that broke out between security forces and supporters of ousted President Mohamed Mursi in Alexandria’s Sidi Beshr and Somouha areas on Friday.

“We transported one dead person and 15 injured people to Alexandria University’s Central Hospital,” said Amr Nasr, Alexandria’s head of the ambulance authority.

Five others were injured in clashes between Mursi’s opponents and supporters in Sidi Beshr area.

Security forces fired teargas bombs and intensified their presence around Sidi Gaber Police Station after a group Mursi supporters attempted to storm it.
