Egypt: Clashes Toll Jumps to 578 Killed, 4201 Injured

Egypt’s Health Ministry said that 578 were killed and 4,201 were injured in Wednesday’s clashes in several Egyptian cities.

In a statement issued on Thursday, the ministry said that 228 were killed and 1,056 were injured in Cairo’s Rabaa al-Adaweya Square alone.

In Nahda Square, the clashes toll rose to 90 dead and 613 injured, the statement added.

Security forces launched a crackdown early Wednesday morning on the Muslim Brotherhood’s sit-ins at Rabaa al-Adaweya and Nahda Squares.
