Assifuah Signs 5-year Deal With FC Sion

Swiss side FC Sion have announced the capture of Ghana U-20 striker Ebenezer Assifuah on a five-year deal for an undisclosed fee.

The Black Satellites penned his contract on Thursday after agreeing terms with the Stade Tourbillon outfit coupled with the blessing of his mother club, Liberty Professionals.

A statement on the club’s website said “FC Sion announces the transfer of Ghana U-20 striker Ebenezer Assifuah.

“The player has signed a 5-year contract tying him to the club. The player should get his qualification for the championship in the coming hours,” the club said.

Assifuah earned global thanks to goal scoring prowess at the recent FIFA U-20 World in Turkey, where he won the Golden Boot with six goals.

The Black Satellites won bronze at the championship.

He was a target of many clubs, but settled for FC Sion due to the clubs record of serving a breeding ground for several young African players.

The forward joined Liberty Professionals last season from second-tier outfit, Eleven Wise.
